Adventures in April !!

April 6, 2025

Hi, friends!

It’s April, and that means it’s time for spring showers, blooming flowers, and Earth Day! This month, we’ll explore ways to enjoy nature, celebrate Easter, and learn about taking care of our planet. Let’s dive in!

1. Spring Showers Bring May Flowers!

Rainy days don’t have to be boring—they can be so much fun!

Fun Activity for Kids:

  • Rain Art: Use washable markers to draw on paper. Place your art outside during a drizzle and watch the rain turn it into a beautiful masterpiece!
  • Puddle Jumping: Put on your rain boots and splash in puddles like a superhero!

Parent Tip:

Turn rainy days into teachable moments. Talk about why rain is important for plants and animals and how it helps our Earth stay healthy.

2. Celebrate Easter!

Easter is a time for family, fun, and reflection.

Fun Activity for Kids:

  • Easter Egg Hunt: Hide eggs around your home or yard. Write little riddles or kind messages inside each egg.
  • Resurrection Rolls: Bake rolls that symbolize the story of Easter using marshmallows, crescent dough, cinnamon, and sugar.

Parent Tip:

Easter is a great time to talk about faith and love. Share simple stories that teach kindness and gratitude.

3. Celebrate Earth Day!

Earth Day is April 22nd, and it’s a perfect opportunity to learn how to care for our planet!

Fun Activity for Kids:

  • Plant a Tree or Flowers: Help your child plant something in your yard or a community space.
  • Trash Walk: Take a walk and pick up litter in your neighborhood or park. Make it a game by seeing who can collect the most!

Parent Tip:

Show your kids how small actions make a big difference. Discuss how recycling, saving water, and planting trees help protect our planet for the future.

4. Books for April Adventures

Kid Book Picks:

  • “The Earth Book” by Todd Parr – A colorful book about loving and protecting our planet.
  • “We’re Going on an Egg Hunt” by Laura Hughes – Perfect for Easter fun!

Parent Tip:

Encourage kids to read outside under a tree or on the porch. Let them connect reading with the beauty of nature.
